Forget about using an HPLC pump to pressurize your samples. Don't use a hand crank pump to try to maintain your quantitative pressure measurements. We are proud to offer a line of syringe pumps designed especially for use in high pressure NMR applications. High Pressure NMR Tubes: It is most suitable for applications where the exact internal pressure is not as important as maintaining the pressure above a certain threshold. These are rated to 1 kbar. There is a 1/4"-28 1 kbar fitting for use with 1/16" tubing located on the side of the cell for pressurization prior to closing the valve. The housing is made from 6053 aluminum which has been found to be inert to both aqueous and organic samples.
The base model Xtreme Syringe Pump can safely and reproducibly deliver and maintain 1 kbar pressure without user intervention. Simply enter the set point and hit run. The pump does the rest of the work. Would you like to do a series of pressure points? Simply hook the controller up to your laptop for multi-point titrations and data logging.
The Xtreme works with both liquids and gases.
Dimensions:
Pump: 12" W x 29" D x 10.5" H (not including cables)
Controller: 11" W x 17" D x 6" H (not including cables)
Pressure Accuracy: 1/2 bar (1 kbar model)
1 bar (2 kbar model)
The 1 kbar model pricing starts at $17,000
A 2 kbar model is also available, and custom models up to 4 kbar are possible.

High Pressure NMR Cell Manifolds and Tubes:
1 kbar NMR tube: These are 3.6 mm I.D. x 5 mm O.D. tubes. $5,000 each.
1.5 kbar NMR tube: These are 3.0 mm I.D. x 5 mm O.D. tubes. $6,000 each.
2 kbar NMR tube: Call or email for information.
These tubes are very robust. They can withstand rough handling including drops off a bench without losing structural integrity. Each tube is pressure certified before shipping.
High Pressure Cell Manifolds:
Depending on your needs there are two versions of cell available.
Self-contained cell: The integration of a high pressure valve allows the cell to be pressurized and placed into the NMR without the need for maintaining a high pressure line attachment. When properly setup, this cell can maintain pressures for months.
Bruker and Varian versions are available. Either tube can be used in this device.
Per cell $1,500 (tube not included)
Static Pressure Cell: To the left, shown resting in a safety box (see below), is the cell designed for quantitative static pressure experiments. This cell, when inside the NMR, requires attachment to an external pressure generator by way of a high pressure line for maintenance of a target pressure.
The housing is made from 544 bronze. The high pressure fitting is 1/2"-20 for use with 1/8" tubing. This cell is designed to work at pressures well above 1 kbar in anticipation of adding such a tube to our inventory.
Bruker and Varian versions are available. Either tube can be used in this device.
Per cell $900 (tube and box not included)
Support Equipment:
Safety Box: This acrylic walled box provides protection to users while pressurizing cells. It also helps protect the setup while moving samples from the bench to the spectrometer. It also provides a convenient place to store high pressure cells when not in use. The box is open on the bottom.
Bruker and Varian versions are available.
Price: $800
Cell Setup Tool: The high pressure tubes are not permanently fixed in the cell to allow for tubes to be switched and cleaned independently. This benefit requires some care when assembling the high pressure cell. This tool assists in that process by helping to keep the tube axially aligned with the cell during setup which improves seal integrity and lowers the probability of improper fit in the NMR.
Only one is needed for each cell type (Varian or Bruker)
Price: $300
Other Cell Components:
High Pressure Seals: These form the primary seal between the high pressure tube and manifold. They are single use. One version works for all tube and cell combinations.
Price: $2 each
Tube Seats: This forms a soft mating surface between the tube and the manifold base. It deforms during cell setup to match any uneven contours of the tube head. It is recommended this be changed after ever 10 uses. It is non-sealing.
Price: $17.50 each
